Kristen Ray, Ed.D.

Superintendent

Dr. Kristen Ray brings over 30 years of experience in education, with a rich and varied background of teaching, leading large schools as an Assistant Principal, Principal, and serving in senior leadership roles at the Central Office level within the public school sector, specifically as Director of Elementary Education and Director of Student Support Services (PreK-12th). She is committed to ensuring students experience discovery and growth both academically and spiritually. She is a mother of three, wife of 34 years, and a grandmother. She loves leading worship, spending time outside, cooking, baking, and enjoying making memories with friends and loved ones. She considers it an honor to be a part of the HCCS family and a privilege to lead alongside these spirit-filled adults to steward the young students of HCCS in their walk with the Lord.

Chris Birkhimer

Principal

Chris Birkhimer is an alumni of Hill Country Christian School and Texas State University. He has been a part of Hill Country Faith Ministries for over 20 years, serving for a decade as youth pastor and starting his journey as principal in 2018. His passion is to see the next generation fall in love with Jesus and find His calling in their lives. He and his wife Bethany have two children, both enrolled at HCCS, two dogs, and a cat who thinks he's a dog.

Danny Rafajko

Assistant Principal

Danny Rafajko brings more than 15 years of experience in education, serving in leadership roles as an assistant principal, academic dean, and regional director of educational programs. He earned his bachelor's degree from Texas State University and his master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His passion is helping students grow into confident, compassionate leaders while fostering a Christ-centered school culture where every child is known and valued. He is the husband of Nichole, father of Hudson and Henley, and enjoys spending time with family, cooking, reading, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
